Austin Moorhead

 


A Two-Time Prizewinner in the World’s most prestigious Classical Guitar Competition (GFA), Austin Moorhead is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer. He moves freely between country, rock, pop, blues, and classical music, playing guitar, dobro, mandolin, and banjo. He has been seen on Broadway in “One Man, Two Guvnors”, and is currently the guitar/utility player for Warner Bros. country artist Michael Ray. He is also the music director/producer for Nashville based artist Taylor Faith.


Before his professional career began, he studied guitar with Frank Koonce at Arizona State and went on to receive a Master’s of Music from Yale University School of Music on a full scholarship studying under Benjamin Verdery. He then received a scholarship from the German government (DAAD) to study in Germany with Tilman Hoppstock. His variety of styles and skills have led him to work in places such as Germany, New York, Los Angeles, and Nashville.
